Phoenix Operation Arrests Four, Seizes 32 Firearms

In a multi-agency investigation focusing on illegal weapons trafficking in the Phoenix metro area, Arizona State Gang Task Force detectives arrested four suspects and recovered 32 firearms in late September 2025. Of the recovered firearms, 23 were reported stolen. The operation also led to the seizure of stolen suppressors, a Glock switch, stolen property linked to burglaries, approximately $10,000 in cash, and a small quantity of fentanyl pills.

During the investigation, on Friday, September 26, 2025, detectives executed five residential search warrants across Phoenix. The suspects arrested included Charles P. Mendoza, 22; Luis A. Pizano, 21; and Christopher J. Lopez, 18, all residents of Phoenix. These individuals face multiple felony charges, such as trafficking in weapons, money laundering, illegal control of an enterprise, misconduct involving weapons, and theft of a firearm. Jasmine T. Olivas, 19, was also arrested on charges of possession of narcotic drugs and possession of a weapon during a drug offense, and a fifth person was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

The operation was conducted with assistance from the Chandler Police Department, the Goodyear Police Department, and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
