Starting September 5, Buckeye Road between Copperhead Drive and 25th Place will be closed for the Taxiway U Project at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The closure is required to connect the north and south runways on the west side of the airfield, which will improve airport efficiency, airfield safety, and operations.

Terminal access will not be affected by the road closure. Detours have been established for travelers coming from the west, directing them to the Rental Car Center and eastbound I-10. Drivers can also access 24th Street, the Rental Car Center, and east I-10 during the project.
