A man accused of child sex crimes has been extradited to Chandler, Arizona, to face charges including child molestation and sexual abuse. Authorities report that Ciro Soberanes Moedano fled the state in 2016 during an ongoing investigation. The U.S. Marshals Service located him in Mexico and facilitated his return to Arizona.

Police stated that during the investigation, evidence showed that Soberanes Moedano, who served as a caregiver, allegedly violated the trust placed in him by harming a vulnerable child under his care. A cash bond of $500,000 has been set in his case.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Chandler Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, worked together to locate and apprehend the suspect.
