At around 7:30 p.m. on April 2, 2025, an Arizona Highway Patrol State Trooper was involved in a collision while parked on the right shoulder of westbound I-10 near milepost 117 in Buckeye. The trooper had been finishing paperwork from a recent non-injury collision and was parked about 20 feet off the highway on the dirt shoulder.

A white Dodge Ram 3500 truck, towing a vehicle trailer carrying three vehicles, went off the right side of the highway at a significant speed. The truck collided with the trooper’s vehicle, pushing it approximately 60 feet further off right. The trooper was transported to a hospital with possible head injuries for evaluation.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, who was the only occupant, was uninjured. He was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and is being processed for DUI and related felony charges.
