Tempe Voters Approve Key Education Funding Measures
Staff Report / tempelocal.org
Tempe, AZ - Voters in the Tempe Elementary School District have approved two key funding measures, the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) override and the District Additional Assistance (DAA) override, according to the latest results from Maricopa County Elections.
The M&O override allows the district to maintain critical educational programs. This funding will ensure the continuation of full-day kindergarten, as well as the retention of teachers in general and instrumental music, physical education, and gifted education. It will also support counseling services for students.
The DAA override enables the district to make significant enhancements in school safety and technology access. This includes maintaining 1:1 technology access for students across all grades, purchasing new school furniture, updating playground equipment, and upgrading technology and equipment at all schools.
The passage of these overrides reflects the commitment of Tempe voters to support local education and the community's students and staff.
