APS Celebrates Arizona, New Mexico Tribal Nations' Heritage

Arizona Public Service (APS) recognizes the Tribal Nations of Arizona and New Mexico, highlighting their rich cultures and traditions. The company specifically celebrates 19 Pueblos of New Mexico and acknowledges various tribes in Arizona.

The list of tribes includes the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians, Havasupai Tribe, San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe, Navajo Nation, and Hopi Tribe, among others. Additional tribes mentioned are the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe, Yavapai Apache Nation, Yavapai Prescott Indian Tribe, Tonto Apache Tribe, White Mountain Apache Tribe, San Carlos Apache Tribe, Gila River Indian Community, and Ak-Chin Indian Community.

Other groups recognized are the Tohono O'odham Nation, Pascua Yaqui Indian Tribe, Fort Yuma Quechan Indian Tribe, Hualapai Tribe, Zuni, Acoma, Isleta, Jicarilla Apache Nation, Santa Clara, Laguna, and Mescalero Apache Tribe.

This acknowledgment occurs on Indigenous Peoples' Day, underscoring APS’s gratitude for its partnerships with sovereign nations throughout the Southwest.
