**New Fantasy Novel Highlights Struggles in Ikhara**

"Girls of Paper and Fire," authored by Natasha Ngan, presents a richly developed fantasy world centered around Lei, a member of the Paper caste—the lowest and most persecuted class in Ikhara. The story unfolds in a remote village where Lei lives with her father, haunted by the traumatic memory of her mother being taken by royal guards years ago. As the narrative progresses, the guards return, now targeting Lei.
